Membership Information

You have access to Library services in Clacton Student Centre and Colchester Institute Library. Anyone can use the Library and becoming a member is easy; membership is free to all Colchester Institute students and staff.

I'm a student - how do I register? Bring your student ID card to the Library, fill in a simple membership form and sign our Student Agreement

I'm a member of staff - how do I register? Bring your staff ID card to the Library or a letter from your Head of Centre indicating that you are a member of staff at the Institute, and register your details with us

I'm not a member of Colchester Institute - how do I register as an external member?

Essex University Students: Bring your current Essex University ID card to the Library and register with us

Other Applicants: You will need to go to registry where you will be asked to fill out a membership form, provide ID, and pay the £69.00 fee. You will be able to borrow five items, from the collections of books, music scores and DVDs. There will be no access to inter-library loans, computers, TLR facilities or loan equipment.
